CTTC Team Event
The 18th Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships starting at Scotstoun Leisure Centre in Glasgow on Tuesday, 19th May has received the largest entry in the history of the event with players from 20 Commonwealth countries participating.
Top seeds in both the men's and women's team events are Singapore whose men’s team includes Ning Gao (WR27) and Zi Yang (WR51). Second seeds are Nigeria, including Segun Toriola (WR67). India is seeded in third place with Sharat Kamal Achanta (WR72) and England, with Paul Drinkhall (WR130), is fourth seed. Scotland, led by Gavin Rumgay (WR247) is seeded eight.
In the women's competition, the Singapore team is looking very strong with Wang Yue Gu (WR11), Sun Bei Bei (WR30) and Yu Meng Yun (WR32), and Malaysia with Beh Lee Wei (WR147). India is seeded third and Canada fourth. Scotland is seeded twelfth.

The women's team finals will be played on Friday, 22nd May at 4 pm followed by the men's team finals at 7 pm. The individual events run from Saturday, 23 May with the finals on Monday, 25th May.
For those table tennis fans able to visit Glasgow, tickets for all sessions are available. Entry to the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday 19th May and qualifying matches on Tuesday, Wednesday (20th), Thursday (21st) and Saturday (23rd) is free.
Tickets for the 2009 Championship Finals on Friday (22nd), Sunday (24th) and Monday (25th) can be purchased by calling 08444 815 787 or from www.comtabglasgow2009.com and start at £5 per adult, £2 per child, £3 per concession and £12 per family.
