Junior League

It was a different location from last season but the West’s Junior League rolled into the sunny Drummie in fine shape and got off to an excellent start on Sunday 6 November at Drumchapel High School. 20 teams, over 60 players (not including the inaugural beginners' league) – the statistics speak for themselves, it’s a popular and enjoyable event, and it’s in rude health.

Division 1
Two teams, familiar with the top of league tables, are setting the pace in Division 1 Drumchapel A and Glasgow South A  both recorded two wins with a perfect ten out of ten for Drumchapel and Glasgow South dropping the one game.
Last year’s champions North Ayrshire A along with Drumchapel B both recorded one win and one loss and share third spot. With home and away fixtures in Divisions' 1 and 2 this year, teams have time to build up some momentum but Drumchapel C and East Kilbride A find themselves at the wrong end of the table and require some of that momentum at the next set of matches to improve their current positions.
Division 2
All much closer in this Division; the 44th BB A team leads the way with seven points from two wins but Drumchapel D are just one point behind. Then, one point separates the remaining teams – East Kilbride B on five points and Helensburgh A, Drumchapel E and Garnock all on four points. It’s all to play for and with a solid run any team could still take the initiative.
Division 3
Glasgow South B got off to the perfect start with two 5-0 wins, they are closely followed by North Ayrshire B, who dropped just one game. The 44th BB C is next on seven points followed by East Kilbride C on 6 points. Helensburgh, Drumchapel F, 44th BB B and Glasgow South C will be looking for an improved performance, to lift themselves away from the wrong half of the division.
