Congratulations to Natasha Milliken on winning the recent Scottish Senior assessment and to Terry McLernon for achieving fourth spot in the Men’s event. Other West players to feature in the top ten were:

Congratulations to Charlie Brown, Robbie McIntosh and Charlie Flint (Aberdeen) for successfully passing their umpiring practical test at the recent West Open. They have all become Scottish National Umpires. This must be a record, three umpires qualifying at the same Scottish tournament. I understand that Robbie’s main dilemma now is whether to opt for silver or gold buttons on his new blazer.
Congratulations to Terry McLernon Sen. for organising another successful West Open. He’s the first to say that running this event is very much a team effort but without Terry’s enthusiasm each year I wonder whether it would take place. Anyway, thanks to everyone involved in running such a great event. The standard appears to get better every year.
