Awards for Liam and Terry
The Sports Council for Glasgow marked its 30th Anniversary on 26th October with an evening to honour the contributions of sports volunteers in the city who have been involved in their sport for over 30 years. Table tennis received 2 awards:
Liam McKeating, former chairman of the West of Scotland Table Tennis League and Honorary member of Table Tennis Scotland received an award for his outstanding service to sport in the city. Liam has run Knightswood Table Tennis Club for over 50 years and supported the West of Scotland in many of its activities and developments over the years. His style is to work quietly in the background but his contribution has been and continues to be significant.
Terry McLernon, Current chairman of Drumchapel Table Tennis Club and the West of Scotland Table Tennis League and Vice Chairman of Table Tennis Scotland. Terry has been coaching and running clubs in the city for over 30 years.
Liam and Terry are providing a fantastic service to table tennis and thoroughly deserve these awards. Congratulations to both of you.
