Stellan Bengtsson and Kjell Johansson were the backbone of Sweden's success in the 1970s and at the Sarajevo Worlds, 1973 won the Men's Team Event and the Men's doubles.
They both visited Scotland on the 25 August, 1974 for the Festival Cup. The line up included Jacques Secertin (France), Dennis Neale, Jimmy Walker and Trevor Taylor (England) and to complete the line up was Richard Yule. The venue was Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh.
Jill Hammersley also played a challenge match against Ann Christine Hellman (Sweden) - I remember that Jill H won this match comfortably as Ann Hellman couldn't lift her chop.
