John's tribute to Liam - Roy Claxton 20/11/2011 21:57:46
I just read John McCulloch's article and have to say that notwithstanding the circumstances that have led to it's posting, it is a wonderful read and encompasses a fitting tribute to a man we all held in the highest regard. Thank you John.

Joe Malone - Billy Carmichael 04/11/2011 15:37:42
I was looking through one of the TT websites and saw the name Joe Malone - could that be the same Joe that played with Jim Scott & Billy Carmichael at International. If so Joe, I would love for you to get in touch.

Jim Thomas - Billy Carmichael 04/11/2011 15:36:08
Just had a phone call from David Thomas telling me that big Jim had had passed away. I went into my note book and guess what? I first met Jim at Springburn Railway Club, in Morrin Street, Springburn in 1961. Wee John Hannah was the Secretary & chief bottle washer of that club and team mates included Alec Metcalfe and the one and only George Anderson. At this very sad time, I can only think of Doreen, David and Alan.
All my love.

Scottish Open - Peter Cameron 31/03/2010 13:11:57
I asked Tam the other night " Is there a Scottish Open this year? "Naw" he said incredulously " there hasn't been one for 25 years". It just goes to show how out of touch I am. The best tournament in Scotland that attracted players from all over the world, what a pity it can't be revived.
I wonder if anyone knows how this came about, was it due to lack of cash, interest or a combination of these things?.
Would be delighted to hear from anyone that could explain why this tournament has dropped from the calendar.
