Friendly Start to Season
The venue was Bell’s Sports Centre; the event was a round robin team event; the reason was a celebration of the Saints Club (Perth) 40th year in existence.
Pat Duffy, Scottish Table Tennis stalwart and legend, invited three teams – Murrayfield, Drumchapel and Scottish Thistles to join the Saints in a round robin team event on Saturday 29th August at Bells Sport’s centre.
Much enjoyment ensued and after 12 matches, Scottish Thistles (Peter Shaw, Derek Lundie and Sinclair Houston) came through in pole position with three victories, followed by Murrayfiled. There were happy faces all round and the consensus was what a great way to start the season amongst friends and with a smidgeon of competition.
