70-74 Singles/Doubles
Johnny Campbell, after qualifying for the knockout stage of this event, lost in Round 1 to Martin Butenhoff (Germany). He lost in three ends, the first two to deuce. It was a similar story in the doubles where Johnny and his partner, Gianfran Palazzoli (Italy) lost to a Luxemburg/German team. Great effort Johnny, qualifying for the knockout stage of these tournaments is an achievement in itself.

50-59 Doubles
After a fifth end win against a German team in round 2, Derek Lundie paired with Tony Needham (Wales) lost in the next round 3-1 to Jindrich Kozeluh, and Milan Duracka (Czech Republic).

50-59 Consolation
This event is for the group stage losers and always includes some excellent players. Derek Lundie had a great run in this event winning through four rounds along with a walk over in the second round to reach the quarter final stage. There he lost to the eventual winner, Juris Silins (Latvia), three games to nil - 3, 6, 10. A great effort Derek.

Derek didn’t fair so well in his group where he was up against players from Russia, Belgium and Germany. He recorded a solid 3-1 win against Francis Trefois of Belgium but lost 3-0 to both Eduard Kozlovski (Russia) and Helmut Schneider (Germany). Good effort, but Derek will now be depending on the consolation and doubles to do some damage.
