Junior League - Final Day

The Junior League reached its climax on Sunday 20th March. 65 players took part over the four sessions and plenty of quality table tennis was played.

North Ayrshire - Division 1 ChampionsNorth Ayrshire secured the Division One title in style with a six point margin and winning all their matches. Jordan McKinlay followed last year’s Division 2 leading player award with the Division 1 award this year – well done Jordan. His North Ayrshire team mate, James Kennedy finished second in the averages. Drumchapel A and B could not be separated and shared second place. In their match with North Ayr, Drumchapel A lost narrowly but dropped points in other matches.
Drumchapel - Division 2 Champions
Greg Robertson, Calum McNair and Stephen Grimes of Drumchapel won Division two by an impressive 10 points and for the second year running Greg Robertson picked up a leading player award.  Holyrood just beat East Kilbride by a single point to secure second place.
Division Three produced the closest finish with Stewarton requiring two 5-0 wins on the final day and Holyrood to lose their final match. Stewarton - Division 3 ChampionsThis was in fact what was served up and Stewarton won the title by a single point from Holyrood. Congratulations to Stewarton’s Ryan Gardiner, Ryan Pitt and Michael Miller. Holyrood took some consolation in Joe Wilson winning the league averages.

Thanks to Alex Hardie for organising the fixtures and results, Iain Rhind for number crunching the league tables and averages and to everyone who helped set up the hall.
